Zambia have been dealt a massive blow after towering defender Stoppilla Sunzu was ruled out of next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho due to injury.

Sunzu, 23, has successfully undergone arthroscopic knee surgery and will be out for a minimum of four weeks.

The situation means the TP Mazember defender will miss the crucial ties against Sudan and Lesotho on June 8 and 15 respectively.

The Black Stars trail the Chipolopolo by a single point and needs to win their remaining three matches to secure qualification from the group.
