Birmingham Legion boss Jay Heaps praises Razak Cromwell capture

General manager of Birmingham Legion, Jay Heaps has heaped praises on the capture of Dreams FC defender Razak Cromwell.

The left back will join the United Soccer League side for the 2019 season on loan after excelling in the Ghana Premier League.

“We are excited to add Razak to our roster,” said Legion FC President and General Manager Jay Heaps. “He’s a smart, dynamic player with an excellent left foot who can play a few different positions down the left side for us this season.”

The 24-year-old has made seven starts this season for his club, all as a left-sided fullback, helping Dreams FC reach 6th place in the league.

Heaps and Legion FC Head Coach Tom Soehn flew to Ghana in September to attend a combine in Tema, Greater Accra, hosted by Ghanaian Premier League team International Allies.

Soehn has successfully signed players to MLS from the Inter Allies’ combines in previous seasons and, this year, Cromwell stood out above the rest.

Cromwell will join recent signing Joe Holland in filling one of Legion FC’s seven international roster slots.
