Ghana U17 girls coach Evans Adotey has set sights on reaching the medal zone after his side secured an early quarter-final at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
The Black Maidens beat European champions Germany to make it two wins in a row a to confirm their place in the last eight.
Adotey is delighted with his side’s progress at the competition.
“I’m highly excited because my dream has come true. In terms of attacking and defensive play I give credit to the opposition, but fortunately for me we got the goal,†Adotey said in a post match interview.
“At the end of the game, the result matters. At the last edition Ghana won bronze, but the expectation of the Ghana team and myself is to go beyond the bronze medal.
“Now we prepare for the quarter-final and this is where we want to be.â€
Ghana will play Canada, who drew 1-1 with Korea DPR in their second match, on Saturday in their final Group B match.
