Black Maidens to continue FIFA U17 Women's World Cup qualifiers in October

Ghana’s U-17 Women’s team will continue their quest for the 2021 FIFA World Cup ticket in October 2020, Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed.

The qualifications for the tournament which will be held in India were suspended in April following the rapid increase in the widespread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The Black Maidens defeated their counterpart from Liberia with an aggregate score of 10-0 to advance to the next round of the qualifiers.

They take on the Nigeria team that also beat Guinea with an aggregate score of 11-2 in the last round.

That tie was scheduled in May but as a result of the coronavirus CAF postponed it.

CAF has announced new dates for the completion of the qualifications.

Below is the date for the final round of qualifiers:

1st Leg:

30, 31/Oct. or 1/Nov./2020

2nd Leg: 19, 20 or 21/Nov./2020

The FIFA U-17 World Cup has been pushed from 17 February to 7 March 2021 in India as a result of the global pandemic.
