Black Meteors leave Accra for Japan and South Korea friendlies

Ghana U23 team have departed Accra for Tokyo, Japan for international friendly games against the Olympic teams of Japan and South Korea respectively.

Samuel Kwasi Fabin's side have been preparing ahead of the matches at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence in Prampram for the past two weeks.

The Black Meteors will use the test matches to prepare for the next African Games scheduled to place in Accra in 2023.

Ghana failed to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan after finishing 4th at the 2019 U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The Black Meteors will take on Japan in two friendly matches scheduled for 4 June and 8 June in Tokyo before travelling to South Korea to play on 12 June and 15 June 2021.

Japan and South Korea are using the games to test their readiness for the Olympic Games football competition which begins on 21 July 2021.
