Black Meteors new coach Kasim Mingle vows to rely on home-based players

Newly appointed head coach of the Black Meteors, Kasim Ocansey Mingle has disclosed he will be relying on local players in his term.

Kasim Mingle, who is currently the head coach of Nations FC was named to lead Ghana's Male U23 team, the Black Meteors.

The former Bechem United tactician replaces Maxwell Konadu, who left his role to take up a job at South African National First Division side Black Leopards.

Speaking in an interview, Mingle affirmed he will mostly rely local players in an attempt to build a very strong team.

“I will start with local players as head coach of the Ghana U23 team. It will be prudent to build a strong local team. The foreign players would have to come and compete for places in the team”

“I will focus more on local players but then, if I get one or two foreign players who are good, I will include them. It is not going to be a wholesale foreign players, we have to build it from here” he said.

Kasim Mingle is a very experienced Coach with a proven track record of talent development. With previous stints as Head coach of Bechem United, Mingle has established himself as a prominent figure in Ghanaian football, renowned for his ability to identify and nurture emerging talent.

He has also coached extensively at the Academy, Colts and second tier levels of Ghana Football, experiences which have equipped him with a deep understanding of how to develop talent from a very early age.

Kasim Mingle has had a very active footballing career playing for then top tier teams Dumas Boys of GTP, GIHOC Stars, Sekondi Eleven Wise and Accra Standfast over a period of eight years.

With a blend of experience, expertise, and a deep-seated passion for talent development, Mingle stands ready to inspire a new generation of footballing stars and propel Ghanaian football to even greater heights.
