Black Meteors suffer third defeat on Asian tour after losing 3-1 to South Korea

Ghana's Black Meteors are winless in their Asian tour after another defeat to South Korea on Saturday morning.

The team lost 3-1 despite playing most of the game with a numerical advantage.

The Black Meteors had started the game the best of the two sides with Osman Bukari's pace a problem for the South Koreans.

However, the West African were shocked from a well worked corner kick by the Asians, after captain Lee Sangmee beat Frank Assinki in the air to head in the opener in the 17th minute.

South Korea were reduced to ten men with seven minutes left to halftime after Kim Jinya's dangerous tackle on Samuel Ashie-Quaye.

Ghana could not take advantage of the South Korea's numerical disadvantage as they conceded again 14 minutes after the break.

Another set piece poorly dealt with saw Lee Suegmoo rebound his earlier effort which had hit the post to double his side's advantage.

Cho Guesung then turned brilliantly to elude three defenders before blasting in his side's third in the 66th minute.

But Black Meteors coach Paa Kwasi Fabin brought on Samuel Obeng Gyabaa and Percious Boah as the game turned in Ghana's favour and with the Real Oviedo player pulling one back.

Ghana created chances with ten minutes left but the Asians were too good for the Africans.

The two sides face off again on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.
