Black Princesses to face Mexico in friendly ahead of FIFA U20 WWC

The U20 female team of Ghana, the Black Princesses will engage their Mexican counterparts in a friendly in Bogota ahead of the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Colombia. 

Ghana arrived in the South American nation last week to continue preparations ahead of the tournament, having spent over two months preparing in Cape Coast.

The two nations will face off at the Centro Deportivo Choquenza on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 20:30 GMT.

Both teams will use the game to test their readiness for the competition which starts on August 31, 2024.

The Black Princesses are returning to the World Cup for the seventh consecutive time, and will be hoping to go beyond the group stage for the first time.

Ghana have been drawn in Group E alongside former champions Japan, Austria and New Zealand and will begin their tournament against the Europeans on September 2.

Coach Yussif Basigi named his final squad on Monday, including America-based duo Jenna Kayla Sapong and Alexandra Emefa Tay.
