Black Princesses coach Yussif Basigi has expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Government of Ghana and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup campaign.

Basigi was speaking ahead of the team's first game of the tournament against Austria in Bogata.

"The Government and the Ghana Football Association have really supported us right from our camping in Cape Coast," Basigi said.

"We thank them for the support we are receiving because they are here with their representatives to ensure we are well taken care of if we encounter any difficulties or challenges."

The backing from these institutions has been crucial in facilitating the team’s preparations and ensuring they are in the best possible condition ahead of their tournament opener against Austria.

"We need the support and prayers of Ghanaians as usual and I know they are going to support us in every aspect as expected," he added.

The support underscores the commitment of both the government and the GFA to the development of women’s football in Ghana.
