Black Queens coach Yusif Basigi is in high spirit ahead of his side’s 2014 African Women’s Nations Cup opener against Algeria on October 12.

The Ghanaians will take on the ‘Les Fennecs Dames’ at the Independence stadium in Windhoek.

The Black Queens will play two friendly games against Namibia’s U16 boys and their female national team before engaging the North Africans in their group opener.

Coach Yusif Basigi says his charges are in top shape ahead of the championship.

“We arrived last week and everything is going as planned. We came early to acclimatize and hopefully we can start on a good footing,” he said

“We are getting ready for Algeria. They got here before us but we know that they are a very strong side and will pose a threat.

“But we have been here before and will do our best to bring the trophy home.

“It’s not going to be easy but we’re in high spirit. I can promise you that.”

The Black Stars will also play Cameroon and South Africa in the other group fixtures.
