Ghana's national women team will set-up a camping base in Tamale on Thursday for acclimatization ahead of next year's African Cup qualifier against Mali.

The Black Queens have been in camp since 17 November and did not break camp during the festive season.

Sixteen players of the Ghana Under-20 ladies who won silver at the 2011 All Africa Games have been promoted to the senior side including head coach Kuuku Dadzie.

The team began training at the Ghanaman Center of Excellence in Prampram with 30 players.

''We will be moving to Tamale today (Thursday) because they have a similar weather conditions to that of Mali," Dadzie said.

''We hope the camping in the North will help us prepare adequately for the game against our opponent who will not be easy customers at all.

"The Black Queens have not done well in the past few years and we have to try to halt that and begin to chalk successes on the pitch once again.

"And we hope to start off on a positive note against the Malians at their own backyard."

The Black Queens have been ranked second best on the African continent in December edition of the Fifa rankings.
