Ghana’s Under-20 team touched base at the Kotoka International on Tuesday morning after they sweat to bag qualification to the 2013 African Youth Championship.

The Black Satellites had to dig deep to preserve a 4-1 advantage from the first leg as they lost to Morocco 3-1 in Rabat in the return fixture over the weekend.

The team touched base in the country without head coach Maxwell Konadu who has left for the Black Stars camping base in Kenya ahead of the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi on Saturday.

“We are very happy with what we have been able to achieve. It wasn’t easy but we thank God we managed to qualify,” midfielder Michael Anaba told GHANAsoccernet.com

“We look forward to the competition itself next year.”

Ghana will be joined in the tournament by Egypt, Nigeria, Gabon, Mali, DR Congo and Benin.

The 2013 African Youth Championship will be held in Algeria.
