Ghana's No. 1

Black Satellites coach Jimmy Cobblah eyes Burkina Faso's scalp in AYC opener

Black Satellites coach Jimmy Cobblah has targeted all three points in their opening game against Burkina Faso on Monday at the Africa Youth Championship in Niger.

The game between the two West African sides was postponed from Sunday to Monday following problems with the floodlights at the Stade de Maradi.

Jimmy Cobblah believes his boys will be up for the task as the country seeks another World Cup qualification at the tournament.

"I'm expecting the boys to come out strongly in all aspects to win as we help them from the touchline," Cobblah told Graphic Sports.

"As you know, it is the first match of the tournament and a must-win game for us.

"I have been able to [find out about] them [Burkina Faso] a bit. Every team in the group has to be taken seriously and we are focused on doing just that.

"It [preparation] is going well as the understanding [among players] is growing. Likewise the love for one another, which goes with team spirit."

Two wins from the group could all but guarantees Ghana's place in Poland 2019 at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
