President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi says the Black Satellites performance at the recent U20 World Cup in Turkey has shown that the domestic league is still capable of producing quality players.

“The difference between the 2009 and 2013 team is that this batch had over 75 percent of players from the local league. This speaks volumes of the quality of the league contrary to the views held by the media.”

Majority of the outstanding players from the Turkey adventure including bronze ball winner, Clifford Aboagye and top goal scorer Ebenezer Assifuah as well as Seidu Salifu ply their trade in the Premier and Division One.

“Without seeking to compare our clubs to the European clubs, our players competed on the world stage with regulars from Juventus, Bastia, Manchester United and many more. We have been able under constraining circumstances been able to produce these players and I am happy.”

The reward of the successful campaign has seen Wa All Stars midfielder Seidu Salifu getting an offer from Turkish giants Besiktas
