Black Starlets didn't prepare well as a team for WAFU U17 tournament- GFA Technical Director
Togolese referee looks on in several attempts in Ghana players during the match

Ghana FA Technical Director Bernhard Lippert says the Black Starlets did not prepare well which caused the team's exit in the ongoing WAFU U17 Cup of Nations tournament in Togo.

The Black Starlets lost 3-1 to the Young Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire in the second group game played on Tuesday finishing third in the group.

A shambolic performance from the referee on the day saw Ghana denied three penalties which could have influenced the outcome of the game.

Speaking on his assessment of the team at the tournament, Lippert said, “I’m not happy with the U17 performance; we have goal scoring problems. We don’t have this kind of strikers who are real strikers but in all the referee decided this match today. Sorry to say this”.

“This was really obvious and there is a lot of things to do. This team didn’t present itself as a team but we still have four or five prospects in the team,” he added.

“We have to discuss the performance of the team at the Executive Committee level .” – Benhard Lippert further stated.
