Ghana's national U-17 team have received a massive injury boost after defender Abdul Samed declared himself fif ahead of the final against Nigeria in the WAFU Zone B championship.

The teenager got injured in the semi final against Ivory Coast on Wednesday but has quickly recovered and will line up for the final.

Despite being seen in pain in that semi final, Samed who has been involved in every minute at the competition says he is ready for the final insisting he is no more in pain.

“I felt some pains in my arm but this morning the pain is no more,” he told FootballmadeinGhana.com.

“I think if it continues like this, I will be ready to play in the final.”

The defender has been one of the key players for coach Karim Zito at the competition and will serve as a major boost for the team who are poised for a place at the Africa U-17 championship next year.

The winner of the final match on Sunday will qualify to play at next year’s Africa U17 Championships to be hosted by Tanzania.
