Black Stars boosted by arrival of Ayew brothers

Ghana have been boosted by the arrival of three France-based players who joined their camp in South Africa as they prepare for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Marseille duo of Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew as well as Rennes central defender John Boye joined the camp in Rustenburg on Sunday.

They will begin training with the team on Monday morning, two days after coach Goran Stevanovic plunged his squad into serious training.

The three players were excused from joining the camp after their clubs pleaded with the Ghana FA to allow the players to play in FA Cup matches.

The Ayew brothers scored for Marseille who thrashed Red Star 5-0 while John Boye was in action for Rennes in their 3-0 win over Nancy on Saturday.

The Ayews have been in good form for Marseille and they are hoping to replicate the form for the Black Stars.

Their arrival is a massive boost for Stevanovic who is seeking to give his squad the best preparation for the squad.

The Udinese duo of Kwadwo Asamoah and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu will link up with the rest of the squad on Monday.

Asamoah Gyan will be the last player to join the squad on Tuesday morning as he is recovering from a hamstring injury.

Ghana will play some friendlies in South Africa before departing for the tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
