Black Stars call-up means I made right decision to join Asante Kotoko – Emmanuel Antwi

Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Antwi says his first Black Stars call-up confirms he made the right decision to join the Porcupine Warriors at the start of the ongoing season from Great Olympics.

The 24-year-old is one of three Ghana Premier League players named in the squad for the final two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

Antwi has made a strong start to life at Asante Kotoko, featuring in all nine of their league games and scoring one goal.

Reacting to the call-up in an interview with Asante Kotoko, he said it signifies that he is doing something right.

"I've been waiting for this opportunity for a very long time, and it's a dream come true. It shows I made the right decision by joining Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

“I think I'm doing something right that has taken me to this level. I think I can do more.

“Credit goes to our head coach and the technical team as well, and also to the head coach of the Ghana Black Stars, Coach Otto Addo, for keeping an eye on me. Also, credit goes to the players for helping me to improve.”

Ghana will take on Angola away in Luanda in their penultimate qualifier before facing Niger in Accra on November 18, three days after the Angola match.
