Ghana coach Charles Akonnor wants the players to make amends for Morocco defeat by beating Ivory Coast on Saturday at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Akonnor’side were beaten 1-0 by the Atlas Lions in Rabat on Tuesday in their first of two friendly games this month.

It was a tight encounter with the Moroccans benefiting from a goalkeeping howler by Razak Abalora in the second half.

The team landed in Accra on Wednesday dawn and are expected to start preparations for the second friendly against the Elephants on Thursday.

“Today, we will have a meeting to discuss the match [defeat against Morocco]. What we did right and what went wrong and we look forward to the Ivory Coast match and going to that game, we have to do video analysis and see how best we can play and of course, outsmart them and win the match. We need to win and that is what we are concerned about,” Akonnor said.

The two friendlies were scheduled after Caf postponed the World Cup qualifiers which was due to start in June to September because of coronavirus.
