Black Stars head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has congratulated Jordan Ayew after he bagged three awards at Crystal Palace end of season awards gala on Tuesday. 

The striker won the topmost award, Player of the Season as well as Player's Player of the Season and Goal of the Season awards.

For the Player of the Season award, Jordan received an impressive 37% of the total votes from almost 6,000 supporters, beating goalkeeper Vicente Guaita (28.2%) and defender Gary Cahill (16.7%) to scoop the accolade.

And reacting to the news, Akonnor claimed that he was proud of the attacker, who has improved and become a good example for young players.

“Jordan Ayew has really improved and as the Black Stars coach, I am very proud of him. Jordan’s progression has been a very good example especially for the young players” Akonnor said on Angel FM’s Floodlight Sports in Accra.

Akonnor following his appointment visited Jordan and his senior brother Andre Ayew. He considers them as key members of the team as he hopes to achieve his target.
