Ghana coach Otto Addo has emphasised the need for full concentration as the Black Stars prepare for their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar.

A win on Monday would extend Ghana’s lead at the top of Group I by three or more points, but Addo insists his players must stay grounded.

"The most important thing is to believe in our own strength and stay confident. It was a good victory for us in a difficult time, and now we have to build on it. No matter who we play, we have the quality to beat anyone, but football isn’t simple mathematics," Addo said.

He warned against complacency, urging his players to stay fully committed. "You can be the better team, create more chances, and still not win. That’s why we need to stay completely focused. Nobody should relax or start thinking about the World Cup already—we must take it step by step."

With Ghana aiming for back-to-back wins, Addo added that the team is determined to keep a clean sheet and tighten their grip on the group standings.
