Black Stars debutant Edmund Addo impressed Ghanaian football fans with his performance on Monday when the senior national team engaged Division One side Golden kicks in a warm-up match for World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.

Addo is one of 15 players who reported to the national team camp after his exertions over weekend with FC Sheriff in a 6-0 win over Zimbru in the Moldova league.

The 21-year-old played alongside Mubarak Wakaso as part of a two midfield pivote with Andre Ayew behind Richmond Boakye Yiadom.

Edmund's touches, control and passes received applause from fans who throng to the stadium to watch him for the first time. He combined his defensive duties with great offensive moves with ball into the opposition's half.

In the second half of the game, the FC Sheriff midfielder shone as the sole anchor alongside captain Dede Ayew in the middle after Wakaso dropped to partner Kotoko's Abdul Ganiyu at centre back.

Addo who plays in Moldova could make his Ghana debut in Johannesburg against East Africans.

After Ethiopia, Black Stars will host South Africa in Cape Coast on Sunday.
