Some key Black Stars players have confirmed their participation in the Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio Charity Match.

The game which will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on June 29, is to officially acknowledge the contributions made by the former Ghana international and coach in the development of football in the country.

While current Black Stars players; Derek Boateng, Anthony Annan, John Boye and Jerry Akaminko have confirmed their participation, efforts are being made by the organizers to have former Ghana captains; C.K Akunnor and Stephen Appiah alongside Sammy Kuffour feature in the game.

Also, discussions are ongoing to have Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah and his assistants to provide technical support on the day.

The game which will involve both past and current members of the national team will be used to raise funds for Attuquayfio who is battling with throat cancer.

Part of the proceeds will also be donated to the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
