Black Stars of Ghana are set to hold their official training session in Luanda on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Estádio 11 de Novembro ahead of their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Angola.
The session will take place at 8:00 pm local time.
The Black Stars arrived in Luanda on Wednesday night, following three productive training sessions in Accra, as they prepare for what is a must-win match to keep their qualification hopes alive. Ghana currently sits third in Group F with just two points from four matches, trailing both Angola and Sudan.
Angola, who lead the group with 12 points, have maintained a perfect record in the qualifiers so far. They are 10 points ahead of Ghana and five points ahead of Sudan, who occupy second place. A victory for Ghana on Friday evening is critical if they are to have any chance of qualifying for the 2025 tournament.
The Black Stars will be hoping to secure a vital three points in Luanda, with the second leg of the qualifier against Niger also looming on the horizon. Ghana’s qualification bid hinges not only on their own results but also on the performance of Sudan in their remaining matches.
Coach Otto Addo’s men are determined to put in a strong performance in the penultimate qualifier as they hope to earn a place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by Morocco.
