Black Stars to play State Envoy in friendly this afternoon.

Published on: 29 May 2012

The Black Stars will play second-tier side State Envoys on Tuesday in a pre-2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier match.

The match to be played at the Baba Yara Stadium will test the team's battle readiness ahead of tie against Lesotho on June 1.

This will be the second test match for head coach Kwesi Appiah who is yet to settle on his starting line-up for the qualifier.

The Black Stars beat another second-tier side Prampram United 3-0 last Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Twenty-three (23) players began training in Kumasi on Monday and will be joined by Esperance defender Harrison Afful on Tuesday.

Play the likes of Kotoko and Hearts of Oak too sometimes in these trial matches. The coach might end up noticing 1 or 2 good players for future matches

World class preparation. Zambia play Angola and we play Prampram United and State Envoys. well done visionary coach. the boys will be motivated by this game and you will surly see if your defensive plans work as state envoys possess very similar attacking threat to that of Zambia!!!! You will also see if your attacking plans work as State envoys will play with the same defensive plan as Lesotho with 10 man behind the ball so it will be very useful to see if you are good enough to break a defensively organised team down. All the lessons you learn from state envoys game can then be applied to your final 3 tactical sessions to make sure black stars are truly ready for WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS. This coach was a good idea!!

Folks, it is reach good for the coach to play these small small teams to avoid injuries. We the older ones do remember what happened to a B Star player when bf a tonament were made to play SS74 our No 11 very good player could not play football again, so they know what they are doing. After all it is training.
