Ghana's Black Stars team will travel to Johannesburg via a chattered flight from Accra for the 2022 World Cup qualifier against South Africa on Monday.
The commercial flight option will get the Black Stars arriving in the Rainbow Nation on Sunday morning, just hours before their clash with the Bafana Bafana.
If that option is also exercised, it could also expose the players to the potential of contracting the coronavirus, which initially made European clubs reluctant to release the players for the match.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) with supports from the Sports Ministry has decided to make the travel to the away match seamless to ensure the Black Stars arrive early for the match.
The cost of getting the spscial flight also turns out to be cheaper which makes it more of economic sense apart from the sporting reasons which has ensured successs of the Black Stars in the past.
The team is expected to emark on on recovery training in Accra on Saturday before they make their journey to Johannesburg later in the day.
The West African giants will be hoping to make it two wins from two games when they play South Africa on September 6, 2021 at the FNB Stadium.
The team will leave Ghana on Saturday for the big game.
The Black Stars will train at the FNB Stadium in Sunday as they put in final touches before the encounter on Monday.
Meanwhile, the team will be without England and Germany based players due to travel restrictions by the associations of both countries.
The English FA and the German football federation have banned players playing in their leagues from traveling to red zone areas, which includes South Africa.
This means Daniel Amartey, Andy Yiadom, Baba Abdul Rahman and Jordan Ayew will not travel to South Africa. Daniel Kofi-Kyereh, who made his debut on Friday and Braydon Manu will also not go to South Africa.
Coach C.K Akonnor might be forced into making some drastic last minute decisions including fielding some local players against the Bafana Bafana.
Ghana started the World Cup qualifiers on a winning note despite a hard-fought game at the Cape Coast stadium on Friday against Ethiopia.
