Blackburn and Huddersfield keeping tabs on Notts County striker Kyle Wootton

Published on: 27 January 2022

Championship promotion hopefuls Blackburn and Huddersfield are among the sides eyeing prolific non-league striker Kyle Wootton.

Notts County’s former Scunthorpe frontman Wootton has been in impressive form this season, netting 12 goals in 22 appearances and currently sits fourth in the National League top scorers chart.

Wootton is out of contract at the end of the season but a number of EFL clubs are weighing up a move before Monday’s deadline rather than waiting until a summer battle to sign the 25 year-old as a free agent.

Birmingham and Barnsley have also shown interest in a deal for Wootton this month along with League One pair Portsmouth and Rotherham.

Wootton started out at Scunthorpe before joining Notts County initially on loan in 2019, scoring 47 times in 108 games at Meadow Lane.
