The decision of Kevin-Prince Boateng to quit the Black Stars provides an opportunity for the emergence of a new talent, Kwasi Nyantakyi says.

The 24-year-old AC Milan star infuriated many Ghanaians with his decision not to play for Ghana again but the Ghana FA boss insists the decision though disappointing could eventually be a blessing.

“We expected to have all our best players, his absence will definitely take some strength away from the team because you and I cannot replace him,” Nyantakyi told journalists.

“But I also think it is an opportunity for an unknown quantity from somewhere to burst onto the scene and become an instant hero and star, so I think it has both positives and negatives.”

Boateng who obtained a nationality switch to play for Ghana in last year’s World Cup in South Africa won nine caps during his time with the Black Stars scoring one goal.
