Bologna coach Roberto Donadoni has said that his team needs to improve their ability to control the game despite beating Sampdoria 3-2 on Sunday.

The Rossoblu squandered a 2-0 lead after half-time but Mattia Destro managed to secure the win from the spot against the Blucerchiati. Donadoni wants his team to improve their game management skills, especially as games progress and prevent the opposition from coming back.

“It is an important result, which improves our position in Serie A,” Donadoni told Radio RAI.

“We played at a great level in the first half, earning the two-goal advantage.

“Then we dropped off a bit, even if Sampdoria only scored with their first shot on goal. It affected us a bit mentally.

“We must learn to manage some moments of the game better, however today’s result is a great leap forward.”

Bologna are now in 10th place on the Serie A table with 29 points after 22 games.
