Dutch defender’s agent Denzel Dumfries travels to England for discussions with Manchester United and Newcastle United. A transfer to Old Trafford appears to be the most logical outcome.

Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries could be on his way to the Premier League, with Manchester United, Newcastle United and Chelsea all reportedly interested in the Netherlands international.

According to Italian outlet CalcioMercato, Dumfries’ agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has traveled to England to hold talks with several Premier League clubs, including the aforementioned trio. The report states that Chelsea are also interested in Dumfries, but their priority is a different target.

The Italian club is said to be demanding a transfer fee of between €40m and €50m for the 26-year-old, which is considered excessive by both Manchester United and Newcastle. The Red Devils currently have Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot as their main options at right-back, while Newcastle have Kieran Trippier in that position.

However, it seems that any potential transfer is likely to be pushed back until the summer, with Calciomercato claiming that Inter Milan have not received any offers for Dumfries yet.

The Dutch defender has made 12 appearances for Inter Milan this season, having joined the club from PSV Eindhoven in 2020. With his contract running until 2025, it remains to be seen if any of the interested clubs will be willing to match Inter’s asking price.
