According to Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal will be back in the summer to land a midfielder after failing to acquire Moises Caicedo in the winter.

Arsenal are reportedly still in the market for a new midfielder, despite their Deadline Day acquisition of Jorginho from Chelsea.

According to Fabrizio Romano In his Daily briefing of the Caught Offside column , the Gunners are expected to be active in this position when the transfer window reopens ahead of next season.

Although it is not yet clear who the specific targets may be, the club is thought to be looking for a longer-term option than Jorginho, who is seen as a solid but probably only a short-term solution.

One player to watch in the summer, according to Ben Jacobs in his Caught Offside column , is Youri Tielemans, who could become a free agent. Romano confirmed that efforts to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton were unsuccessful as the club refused to budge and rejected offers of £60m and £70m. Jorginho, however, is seen as an excellent deal for both clubs, with Chelsea making money and Arsenal signing an experienced midfielder who is highly appreciated by manager Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners take on Everton in their next game as they look to continue their charge towards the Premier league.
