Both clubs are looking for reinforcements in the centre of the park and have identified the Ecuador international as a developing talent, though securing his services will be extremely difficult.

Arsenal have reportedly made a £60 million bid for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo in order to gain an advantage over Chelsea in the race to sign him.

Brighton have insisted that Caicedo will not be sold this month as the club seeks to qualify for Europe for the first time in its history. However, this has not deterred the ‘Bix Six,’ who are eager to put the Seagulls to the test.

According to reports, Brighton rejected a verbal offer of £55 million from Chelsea for the 21-year-old, and Arsenal has now made their interest official.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal made a £60 million bid for the midfielder, which was rejected, according to The Athletic.

Arsenal will need to increase their opening bid of £60 million if they are to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The Gunners are interested in signing Caicedo before Tuesday’s transfer deadline in order to bolster their midfield following Mohamed Elneny’s knee injury.

Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his desire to bolster his midfield ranks before the transfer window closes, with several different options being considered as they look to maintain their title charge.

Though Arsenal will be hoping that the prospect of competing for the title will change the playmaker’s mind and give them the green light to submit a second bid.

Brighton are known for being tough negotiators, and they are in a good position because they are not under financial pressure to sell. Only a few weeks ago, the club sold Leandro Trossard to Arsenal for £26 million.

Brighton have previously received large fees for their players, including £50 million from Arsenal for Ben White.

Last summer, they received more than £60 million from Chelsea for Marc Cucurella, but any potential deal for Caicedo would have to exceed that figure and set a new club record.

Arsenal are also keeping an eye on Real Sociedad’s Martn Zubimendi, who would be a cheaper option if an agreement with Brighton for Caicedo cannot be reached.
