Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed what he asked Eder Militao to do against Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski during El Clasico
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he ordered Eder Militao to be aggressive with Robert Lewandowski during Sunday’s El Clasico.
Madrid came out on top with a comfortable 3-1 win over Barcelona at Santiago Bernabue in La Liga.
Goals from Federico Valverde, Karim Benzema and Rodrygo were enough to extend Real’s unbeaten run to 18 matches across all competitions.
Robert Lewandowski provided the assist to Barca’s only goal at Madrid as he was silenced by Militao, thanks to the advice the defender received from his manager.
Speaking after the win, Ancelotti said: “I used Eder Militão to put pressure on Lewandowski, I guess it worked.
“I asked Militao to be very aggressive on Lewandowski.”
Militao said after the game: “Lewandowski? It’s always good to be in a good physical shape to face a player of his caliber. I think I had a great match, just like the whole team.
“Thank you very much to the fans, I’m great & very happy. It’s very important, for confidence that we won today.”
