Chelsea injury blow as star is set to miss England vs Ukraine

Cole Palmer is currently unavailable for England U21 ahead of their Ukraine U21 game on Monday in EURO U21 qualifiers.

Palmer picked up a knock during their 9-1 win over Serbia and Mauricio Pochettino is currently sweating on his return ahead of the Blues clash against Arsenal following the international break.

Ahead of their clash against Ukraine, England U21 boss Carsley provided an update: “I think Cole would be fine, but we don’t take any chances with any of the players.

“If there is a slight doubt that they’re going to miss a game at the weekend, we get them back to the clubs as quickly as we can.

“We could’ve kept Cole here another day and see how it was, but we didn’t think it was right. Everyone else is fine, a few colds and sniffles.”
