Denmark international Christian Eriksen has named new signing Lisandro Martinez as the funniest player in the Manchester United dressing room.

Manchester United player Christian Eriksen has named Lisandro Martinez as his funniest player at in the dressing room and named football legends Francesco Totti and Michael Laudrup as his footballing idols.

Man United signed Eriksen as a free agent over the summer after he completed a short spell at Brentford, which many described as outstanding.

The Denmark international wasted no time adjusting to life at the Theatre of Dreams and is one of Erik ten Hag regular starters, thanks to his regular top performances.

Eriksen may have spent a few months at Manchester following his summer arrival, but he believes Martinez, who joined United from Ajax over the summer, is his funniest player in the Manchester United dressing room.

Speaking to MU, the Dane said: “Funniest member [in the Manchester United squad]? Again, I’m new so I haven’t really seen how people react outside of the club, it’s on and off but I do think… I will say Licha Martinez. He’s also new, he’s a fun one to tease!”

Eriksen could have provided a different name if he and Martinez were at Manchester United last season alongside centre-back Eric Bailly.

The former Villarreal defender was widely touted by the United squad as the funniest player in the Manchester United team but both Bailly and Eriksen didn’t share a dressing room as the Ivorian sealed a season-long loan move to Marseille before the arrival of the ex-Tottenham midfielder as a free agent.

Eriksen has named former Denmark international Michael Laudrup and AS Roma legend Francesco Totti as his two footballing idols.

On his footballing idols growing up, the 30-year-old continued: “I had two: one was [Francesco] Totti because I played Football Manager and then after it was Laudrup, Michael Laudrup, the one and only. Just because he was Danish and I liked the style.”
