Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has suggested Aston Villa goalie Emi Martinez could join Manchester United next season.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that after Emi Martinez’s heroics in the World Cup he could be linked with a move to either Manchester United or Chelsea.
Martinez left Arsenal to become the first-choice goalie at Aston Villa and he’s obviously one of the best goalies in the league.
Martinez carried his top club form into the World Cup and played a huge role in Argentina’s run to the Qatar World Cup success.
The Aston Villa goalie saved two penalties to help Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties and would go on to win the Golden Glove Award.
Teams are expected to show interest in the 30-year-old World Cup winner and Fabrizio Romano has suggested that he could be linked with a move to Old Trafford next summer, as Manchester United are trying to sign a goalie that can challenge David de Gea for the no.1 spot.
“Emi Martinez could be part of a domino effect with goalkeepers next summer, maybe with Manchester United or Chelsea, let’s see,” Romano told ChampsHouseCBS.
