Glen Johnson uses two words to describe Darwin Nunez, speaks on Uruguayan’s future at Liverpool

Right after making a record move to Anfield during the summer transfer window, Nunez was at the center of criticism over his poor start in the Premier League. Step by step he came on to prove he was worth the money Liverpool paid for him.

“Everyone jumped the gun too early to say he was a disappointment,” Johnson said, via Anfield Watch.

“He’s not been there long. It’s not easy to go to a big club and hit the ground running. Not everyone can do what Luis Díaz did.”

Johnson believes Nunez is a “fantastic signing” and will have a bright future with the Reds.

“It has been harsh to give him so much pressure and I think he’s only now showing his class. He’s a fantastic signing and I think he will be a big player for Liverpool in the coming years,” he added.
