Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry commented on the sentencing of American basketball player Brittney Griner.
“Now this goes beyond the world of sports, but I and all of Brittney’s other colleagues have been loud about continuing to support her in the media and making her feel needed and loved.
Unfortunately, we are helpless in these situations. Obviously, this is a bad day, but I am hopeful that negotiations will soon lead to her coming home quickly and safely. The right people are feeling the pressure, so hopefully this will help Brittney,” Yahoo News quoted Curry as saying.
Brittney Griner was sentenced to nine years in a general correctional colony for drug contraband. Also, the basketball player was fined 1 million.
