Chelsea have suffered a huge setback as they’d be without Reece James and Mason Mount for the Leeds clash.

Chelsea’s upcoming match against Leeds United in the Premier League is set to be a challenging one, as two of their key players are facing injury issues.

The club’s right-back, Reece James, is doubtful for the game due to a tight hamstring, while Mason Mount has been ruled out due to an abdomen problem.

James has had a challenging season so far, having missed out on the World Cup due to a knee injury he sustained in October. He then suffered a setback upon his return, and his game time has been carefully managed by coach Graham Potter since then. The tightness in his hamstring means he could potentially miss out on the match against Leeds.

Mount, who has been in excellent form for Chelsea this season, has been ruled out of the game due to an issue with his lower abdomen area. It is unclear how long he will be out for, but he is expected to be a significant loss for the team.

Chelsea’s injury concerns do not end there, as Thiago Silva is also set to be out of action for six weeks due to knee ligament damage suffered during their recent 2-0 defeat to Tottenham. Meanwhile, N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy are still working their way back to full fitness, although Kante had his first full training session on Friday.

Chelsea, who are currently in 10th place in the Premier League, are hoping to turn their fortunes around and secure a spot in the top four.

However, with their hopes of Champions League qualification fading fast, they will need to overcome these injury setbacks and put on a strong performance against Leeds United on Saturday.
