Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka was forced to leave the pitch early in the first half against Wolves due to a stomach issue.

Granit Xhaka left the pitch with a supposedly stomach issue and Arsenal were forced to make an early substitution during their Premier League game against Wolves.

The Switzerland international has been a pivotal member of Mikel Arteta’s squad but the Gunners were forced to complete the remainder of the game without the midfielder’s services.

Several reports have claimed that despite the midfielder’s stomach problems, he’s expected to join up with the Switzerland squad to Qatar later this month for the World Cup.

Mikel Arteta reacted by replacing the defensive midfielder with Fabio Vieira but the scoreline remains goalless after the first 45 minutes.

Arsenal need a win at Wolves to go five points clear of Manchester City, who succumbed to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Brentford earlier today.
