Anthony Annan has spoken out on his career and revealed that he has not retired from football yet.

Annan has played for Ghana national team from 2007 to 2013 and has been part on Ghana’s famous 2010 squad that finished second in AFCON and reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

While on club level, the Ghana international last played for TPS in 2022.

“I’m still Ghanaian and I’ve played for the Black Stars before. For now, some new players deserve the chance to play. We need to support them. I wouldn’t say I’ve retired but I have to step aside for the new players to have the opportunity,” Annan said when speaking with Pipapipa Media on YouTube.

“I have not retired yet. I just came to Germany and I will see about that. If I get the chance to play again, I will. And if I feel I should retire, I will.”

The 37-year-old has made overall 361 appearances in which he scored 4 goals and provided 12 assists.

While for Ghana, Annan made 67 appearances and scored 2 goals.
