Ladbrokes are widely recognised as both a reputable firm and one of the UK’s premier bookmakers.
At Bookmaker Ratings we rate bookmakers based on a variety of criterion and, all things considered, Ladbrokes had held a 5-star rating and were among the top bookmakers reviewed on our site. However, having recently received a punter complaint, they no longer sit among our top-rated bookies.
In November 2016, we received a complaint from a Ladbrokes punter stating that they had not been paid out on a winning bet:
At Bookmaker Ratings we also act as an intermediary between punters and bookmakers whenever disputes arise. Punters can use our complaint form to tell us about any issues they may be having with their bookmaker. Using these complaints, we then contact the bookmaker in question and aim to solve the problem.
On receiving the above complaint, we contacted Ladbrokes and were able to speak with someone from the firm. In doing so we were told that the complaint was being looked into and that we would receive answers. Such dialogue was a positive start as the complainant had previously failed to receive any information. However, despite initially making contact we have since received nothing from Ladbrokes.
Not being able to continue the dialogue and receive a solution means that the punter hasn’t had their problem resolved which is the of course not the desired outcome. However, as a result, we have downgraded Ladbrokes in our ratings in an aim to make other punters aware.
