Massive Chelsea Injury Update As Star Man ‘In Contention’ For Fulham Clash
The 23-year-old missed out on England’s World Cup squad through injury, but was back in action pretty soon after the World Cup before suffering another injury setback in Chelsea’s home win over Bournemouth.
James has since been nursing his recurring injury woe and may make an unexpected return against Fulham next Friday in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have reportedly agreed the transfer of 19-year-old right back Malo Gusto yesterday, but he will finish out the rest of the season at Olympique Lyonnais and won’t be actually moving to Stamford Bridge until the summer. However, Reece James should be ready to return, as per the Telegraph, is “in contention” to start next Friday against Fulham.
James’ recovery procedure from his knee injury hasn’t exactly been smooth or straightforward, involving a random trip to Dubai and a failed comeback attempt a month ago that lasted roughly 60 minutes. Having been back in training, in at least limited capacity, for a couple weeks now, so presumably he will have indeed ensured he’s fully ready to return.
