Newcastle United leads Arsenal in the race for Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby, as they have the money and interest to outspend Arsenal.

Newcastle United is reportedly leading the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen winger, Moussa Diaby, as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.

According to a report in The The Sun, the Magpies have been closely monitoring the Frenchman and are prepared to outspend their Premier League rivals, Arsenal, in the pursuit of his signature.

The Gunners are said to have had a long-standing interest in Diaby, viewing him as a quality competitor for Bukayo Saka. However, it appears that Newcastle’s financial muscle and desire to break into the top six could give them the edge in the battle for the highly-rated winger.

Eddie Howe’s side has been working hard to identify potential targets ahead of the summer transfer window, and it seems that Diaby is high on their list of priorities. The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for Leverkusen this season, registering six goals and nine assists in 27 appearances in all competitions.

Arsenal will now have to act fast if they want to beat Newcastle to Diaby’s signature. With the Magpies reportedly ready to break the bank to secure the services of the talented winger, the Gunners will need to decide whether they are willing to match their rivals’ financial commitment to land their man.
