Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that his side deserved the win they got because they played really well.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was pleased with his side’s performance against Getafe on Saturday night and felt they deserved the victory.

Los Blancos returned to the summit of the La Liga with 22 points from 8 matches following their tight 1-0 win over Getafe on Saturday night away from home, although they have played a game more. They will drop back to the 2nd position if Barcelona win their game against Celta Vigo at Camp Nou, thanks to their massive goal difference.

Eder Militao scored three minutes into the game at Getafe and many thought the Whites could score a lot more but that was the opposite. The tie ended with Eder’s goal as the difference, although the visitors had a second half Rodrygo goal correctly ruled out for offside.

Despite only winning by a goal margin, Ancelotti says he’s pleased with his side’s performance and believes they deserved the victory.

“I am satisfied because last season we punctured here and this season we have been more solid and strong in the duels,” Carlo Ancelotti told Real Madrid official website.

“The team played well and deserved to win. I am satisfied because last season we punctured here and this season we have been more solid and strong in the duels. We have also finished with a clean sheet and it is important because we have been very good in intensity and defended well. Militão and Rüdiger have been very good and Tchouameni, ahead of them, too”.

“Sometimes there are games in which you feel very comfortable with the ball. We have scored early and that has made us not be in a hurry and not force the play too much. We have handled the ball more and controlled the game, but we have not been as successful up like other times. We’ve created a lot of chances in the last two league games and we’ve scored few goals”.

Eden Hazard was left on the bench despite Real Madrid searching for goals to ensure their lead was safe at Getafe. Ancelotti has again confirmed that the former Chelsea winger is doing fine and will have his chances to show his qualities.

“He’s fine and he’s training well. He’ll get a chance from him very soon,” the Italian tactician said.

Real Madrid will host Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu next weekend in the La Liga but before that, they will take a trip to Poland to face Shakhtar Donetsk in matchday 4 of the Champions League.

Carlo Ancelotti is refusing to be distracted by the upcoming El Clasico and also confirms that he will have to rotate his squad in a bid to have a perfect squad against Xavi Hernandez’ side that has been impressive in the La Liga.

It will be a top-of-the table clash in Madrid but the Italian manager would rather put his focus on the next game.

“It’s still a long way off. We have a game before and on Tuesday it could be that it rotates a little more and that the players who are more tired don’t play,” said Ancelotti.
