This League Two match sees two teams who are likely going neither up nor down this season as midtable sides Blackpool and Crawley Town go head-to-head.

Blackpool have got themselves into the bad habit of drawing too many matches (four of the last five) and have not won in the league since Boxing Day putting them down in 14th in the overall form table, eight points off the play-offs. However, with a gap of 12 separating them from the bottom two, Blackpool should be fine come May, despite the constant unrest happening at the club.

Defending has certainly not been the problem for the Tangerines this season and they have the third best defensive record in the league with just 28 goals conceded in 27 matches whilst they have also kept clean sheets in 30% of their matches. Having said that, they have not kept a clean sheet in either of their last two league matches.

Unfortunately, Gary Bowyer’s side lack the cutting edge up front to take advantage of their solid back-line and have only scored two goals on one occasion in their last seven league games.

With all the discontent occurring at Bloomfield Road at the moment, it is hardly surprising that Blackpool have not won any of their last six home matches in all competitions. Although their defence has been good overall this season, Blackpool have conceded in 77% of their home matches so far this campaign and at least one in each of their last five.

Crawley are currently on a bit of a downer having lost their last two league matches, particularly frustrating when it looked like they might be putting some kind of run together following two straight victories after new year.

The Red Devils are in mid-table because they are distinctly below average in both defence and attack with 33 goals for and 42 against nowhere near good enough to challenge the play-off places. However, Crawley can take a bit of solace from the fact they have kept clean sheets in 30% of their matches.

Dermot Drummy’s side have been absolutely abysmal on the road this season and have the worst away record in the division after collecting just 11 points in 14 games. This poor run looks unlikely to improve any time soon with three consecutive defeats at the Checkatrade.com Stadium since Christmas Day.

Although Crawley’s form on their travels is woeful, I think they can snatch a point at Bloomfield Road. There is a lot of apathy around Bloomfield Road at the moment and Crawley could take advantage of both that and Blackpool’s recent poor home record. The draw, at 11/4, is the most appealing selection ahead of this fixture.
