Caroline Wozniacki had not played in any match since the Australian open, where she was defeated by Putintseva. Such a beginning to the season can’t be called perfect. But she has an advantage in face to face matches with Cibulkova – 9:3. They hadn’t played against each other for a long time. Their last clash was in Moscow and Wozniacki won in three sets.
The courts in St.Petersburg allow to play quite fast, but at the same time, they are making some troubles for the movements of players. I think it would be a long match time. Cibulkova defeated Rodina here and found the way she can play. I can’t pick a favourite between these two, and I think it will be hard for both to win. No one can easily overplay Wozniacki, she will do anything to avoid defeat. I expect a tough fight. So we can go for total match games over 20.5.
