Germany v Hungary. Tancredi Palmeri’s prediction
In six of there last seven games Hungary have found the net. They’re not a side who’s solid exactly, but they can definitely create opportunities and can perhaps offer more of a threat that some might assume.
Germany on the other hand have conceded in each of their last eight games. Perhaps surprising to see from the current World Cup holders. In fact, since the World Cup the Nationalmannschaft have dipped in form, although it has to be said that there’s nothing like tournament football to bring out the best in big teams. Last time out the Germans were once again in poor form as they slumped to a 3-1 defeat against Slovakia: Their 4th worst home defeat in the last 12 years, with the others coming against Italy, Argentina and -weirdly enough – Czech Rep. Now they must react. The problem is this is a friendly and it is such friendlies where the Germans have struggled to hit the required levels of motivation.
Despite not being in the best of form lately, the difference in quality is overwhelming here. Hungary don’t quite match up to the standards of either England or Slovakia and the Germans are fancied to bounce back and head to the Euros in the right mood. However, it’s likely they’ll do this without keeping a clean sheet and therefore Germany to win and both teams to score is the way to play this one.
