Hearts v Ross County Betting Tips: Good opportunity for hosts

These two teams are out of form at the moment but, whilst hosts Hearts are competing in the top half of the table, Ross County are hoping to avoid relegation to the Scottish Championship.

Although Hearts are on a bad run at the moment, it is worth mentioning that this is in all competitions and, in the league, they have only lost one of their last four which puts them 4th in the table and just five points off the top three.

The Edinburgh-based side certainly like goals to feature in their matches and their record of 46 for is the third-best in the division. Unfortunately for them though, they cannot keep it tight at the back and they have only kept one clean sheet in their last six top flight matches.

Ian Cathro’s team are very good at home and, stretching back to Robbie Neilson’s time in charge of the club, they have lost just once at Tynecastle since being beaten by Celtic back in August.

Ross County are having a nightmare at the moment and are still yet to win a top flight match in 2017, placing them down in 9th and just three points above the automatic relegation spot. Additionally, they have lost their last three in all competitions.

The Staggies have been poor in both boxes over the course of the campaign with just 28 goals scored and a worrying 45 conceded in 26 league matches. Ross County rely far too heavily on Northern Irish striker Liam Boyce for their goals and, when he fails to produce, they find it difficult to take any points.

Away form has been bad for Jim McIntyre’s side and they’ve taken just 11 points from 13 matches away from Dingwall, winning just twice with the last one coming all the way back in November 2016.

Hearts are the overwhelming favourites here and I expect them to come out of this match with both a win and a clean sheet. Cathro’s men do perhaps concede a few goals but, Ross County are really struggling at the moment so confidence will probably be far to low to be creating serious chances here.
