This Scottish Premiership match is a bit of a mismatch as relegation strugglers Inverness Caledonian Thistle welcome seemingly invincible Celtic to Caledonian Stadium.

Inverness managed to elevate themselves from the foot of the table after a shock victory over Rangers which ended a 14-match win-less run in the league. They do still sit in the relegation play-off place but are just two points off tenth with a better goal difference.

Richie Foran’s side, as you would expect from a team in their position, have been poor in both boxes with just 31 goals scored in their 26 games and a rather alarming 47 conceded. Although that Goals For statistic does not make pretty reading, it is still worth noting that Inverness have scored five in their last three Premiership matches. Having said that, their dodgy defence shows no sign of rectifying itself any time soon with no clean sheet in their last five in all competitions.

Caley Thistle’s home form has also been pretty woeful with just 15 points taken from 13 matches at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. That aforementioned win against Rangers does perhaps show that things are possibly going to turn round at home, as well as the fact they were unbeaten in two before that. Although, going up against Celtic is another matter altogether.

Celtic are breaking records left, right and centre this season and, with no losses in any domestic competition so far this campaign, it looks like they could easily go on to win the treble, avoiding defeat for the rest of the season.

Unsurprisingly, Brendan Rodgers’ side top the tables in both attack and defence with 69 scored and just 16 conceded in their 26 league matches. No team in Scotland is close to that record.

Away form has obviously been amazing for the Bhoys and they have failed to win just once on their travels in all domestic competitions. Incidentally that draw was at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium where Celtic travel on Wednesday. I doubt that mistake will be repeated though.

The away side will no doubt win here but backing them to score goals is the way to go in terms of betting. With Inverness’s defence being so dodgy, Celtic could really run riot here. With this in mind, ‘Celtic to Score Over 2.5 Goals’, at 13/10, looks good here.
